This project has been impacted by my attitudes in many positive ways. I have found the goals of With Wings and A Halo REACH a Child to be closely aligned with my own personal feelings and interests. Some of the common cognitive components are children need to trust first responders and not be intimidated by them so they can do their jobs. The children are often innocent victims in bad situations and need something positive to focus on during these difficult times. The books provided to first responders help them make a connection with these children and help them gain trust and respect by using books. The affective components of this are I love to read and greatly respect all first responders for their bravery and dedication to helping others. I also have found great enthusiasm and conviction in myself by becoming involved with this organization. The behavioral component of this is I am going to personally stay involved with this organization beyond the scope of this class assignment, support them in their cause by donating my time, let others know about this project, and try to involve as many people as I can. Our group is going to do a book drive, sort books, and deliver them to first responders to make an impact.
My attitudes have also impacted our group experience in positive ways such as I feel the affective component of my attitude about this project has made the other members of my group excited and eager to participate. The group has a shared agreement that this is a good organization which is the cognitive component. The behavioral component is the group has taken in achieving the common goal of having a successful book drive and delivery. Overall I have found this to be an exciting opportunity to work with other students to support a great organization.
